Ami Abarbanel
At Peaceworks, I help individuals and organizations navigate conflict with clarity, calm, and compassion. Throughout my career, I’ve supported people across healthcare, human services, behavioral health, government, and education — helping them navigate complex situations, work through difficult conversations, and find a clearer path forward.
Conflict resolution has been a thread throughout my career, from my earliest work in community and advocacy settings to my professional work as an ombudsperson, conflict coach, public guardian, facilitator, and cross-system collaborator. I hold a master’s degree in Dispute Resolution and a bachelor’s degree in Conflict Resolution.
I believe the way we navigate conflict matters — not only in our personal relationships and workplaces, but in our communities and institutions. At a time when conflict can feel increasingly difficult to escape, creating more opportunities for people to listen, communicate, disagree constructively, and find common ground feels more important than ever. Peace is built not only through large-scale change, but through the everyday interactions we have with one another.
Whether I’m coaching an individual, facilitating a difficult conversation, providing independent ombuds consulting, or mediating between people in conflict, my role is to offer a steady bridge between where things feel stuck and where constructive dialogue can begin.
